CHARACTER INFORMATION

The Character creation system is based upon points. Every Statistic, Skill, Magical Spell and Technological Discipline will cost you one of your gathered "Character Points" to purchase. All Characters begin with certain Statistical values by default, but during the process of Character creation the player can spend Character Points to increase a Statistic, to raise Skill ranking, or even to buy Technological Disciplines and Magical Spells before the Game begins.

In addition to those alterations made by use of Character Points, you may also choose a Race or a colorful Background story for the Character, and these also will affect the abilities with which that Character begins the Game. Achieving a new Level of Experience, the Character will gain further "Character Points", which you will also spend in the improvement of the Character, raising the level of many helpful traits and Skills.

The Races in Arcanum : The choice of Race will modify some of the Statistics, Skills and other attributes of a Character, including how Non-Playing Characters will react to your presence.

Pre-Made Characters : These are the ready made characters available if you choose not to create your own.

The Character Backgrounds : Your character's background will affect your skills, stats, and your general approach to the game world.

Training : Training is the best means of improving one's performance in any Skill and is a separate matter from one's rank.

Acronyms : Abbreviations used to describe bonuses or penalties items come with.
