Wrestling equipment - Tools of the Trade

Whether it is the wedding dress or the wrestling gear and equipment, every person has his or her own preferences. Thus, while branded wrestling shoes, singlets, headgears, mats and other wrestling equipment are galore in the market, but at certain times, no wrestling equipment is more appropriate than the ones that are made to custom specifications. But then, one must also keep in mind that customizations should not maim the high-end specifications and functionality should be dominating the fashion.

Let’s start with the wrestling singlets. These one-piece, tight-fitting, lycra uniforms are indispensable as wrestling equipment. Though one may print custom messages or get one made as per the color of choice, deviating from the tight-fitting domain too much can result in a series of failures. Getting grasped and then pinned too often is not something a serious wrestler would prefer; for the ladies, a higher cut singlet with a sports-bra underneath shall do just fine.

Almost similar guidelines apply for the wrestling equipment that we call the wrestling shoes. Apart from being light, flexible, thin-soled and ankle-high, they should not cause any hindrance to the speed and traction, two of the most vital factors that ensure a win. This wrestling equipment should also provide enough ankle support and must have flap(s) to cover the laces to prevent them from coming untied during a competition.

Wrestling headgear, perhaps the most important of all wrestling equipment, is primarily a protective outfit that resist sudden impacts in the head and the adjoining areas. Poor quality headgears are thus to be avoided; it’s only the molded plastic-polymer or vinyl-coated, impact-resistant foam to be chosen. A rigid, hard-liner is also of paramount importance and it should also strap to the head tightly.

The last one would be the padded mat on which wrestling is conducted. Excellent shock absorption, resistance to wear and tear and superior compression qualities are what that make a good mat, thus, PVC rubber or nitrile foam is to be given an upper hand for this wrestling equipment. However, if not operating on a tight budget, closed cell, cross-linked polyethylene foam mats covered in vinyl with non-woven polyester support would be the best. And when such top wrestling products manufacturers like Barbarian, Mizuno, Matman, Canterbury, Cliff Keen, Tanita, Asics, Qued and Infinity are present, chances are that you won’t require hunting around for quality wrestling equipment.
